Danan's Expertise

Danan is an ambassador for Ariel’s domestic equity strategies and key client relationships. He also serves on the domestic investment committee and covers financial services and infrastructure companies. Prior to joining Ariel, Danan was a client portfolio manager for Thornburg Investment Management, focusing on both equities and fixed income. Previously, he was a portfolio manager for Strategic Growth Bancorp, managing multi-asset strategies for institutional clients. Earlier in his career, he served as a federal banking regulator at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation during the financial crisis. Danan is a combat veteran of the U.S. Army. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management with a BBA, concentrating in finance and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.
